In this great tragedy, Othello, the Moor of Venice and a military hero, is undone by the treachery of his assistant, the jealous and ambitious Iago. By skillfully planting and watering seeds of suspicion, Iago convinces his master that his wife has been unfaithful, and Othello, in a jealous rage, kills her.

This romantic comedy is set in motion when a shipwrecked Viola disguises herself as a man and sets off in search of her lost brother, whom she fears has perished. A series of mistaken identities ensues and characters fall madly in love, all complicated by pompous servants, drunken ne’er do wells, and clever fools. The play ends with the couples happily wed and Viola reunited with her brother.
