Shakespeare on the Rocks is celebrating its 25th anniversary with its
2013-2014 play season and is proud to showcase “Doctor Faustus” by
Christopher Marlowe. This play is a morality tale where Doctor Faustus
seeks universal knowledge in exchange for his soul. It is adapted in
the spirit of Día de los Muertos and is directed by Joseph Martinez,
III. The play will be performed at the Woman’s Club of El Paso,
located at 1400 North Mesa Street, on Friday, October 25, 2013 and Saturday,
October 26, 2013 at 7:00 p.m., and on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 2:00
p.m. American Sign Language interpretation will be provided at the Sunday,
October 27th performance.
Shakespeare on the Rocks,
(SotR), is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization and is partnering with
Theatre, Inc. Since SotR’s inception, it
has been resolute in its commitment to providing quality live classical
theatre and educational outreach to the Paso Del Norte region community
and its people. This production is a testimony to SotR’s commitment
in exemplifying El Paso’s multiculturalism and embracing of all
peoples as a borderland community.

There will be an audience costume contest on Friday, October 25th, between
6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., before the performance, with local celebrity
judges. Door prizes will be provided at all three performances.
Free parking will be available across the street on the corner of North
Mesa Street and River Avenue.
